About periaid

In Spring 2021, a group of Arizona State University students–Alex, Claire, Jesus, Sao, and Xochitl–began a class called "Coding for Social Good". This course allowed the team to create an idea for a mobile app that addressed an aspect of poverty in Arizona. After learning more about poverty in Arizona, through a combination of research and interviews, the team decided to address a problem in Arizona that they had never heard of: period poverty.

After months of research, constant iteration, and a competitive pitch competition with our classmates, our team was selected by a committee of judges to continue developing our app over the summer with funding from Apple. Over this summer of 2021, periaid as an idea, as an organization, and as a mobile app has continued to grow.

We invite you to help us bring periaid to its full potential–by downloading our app, sharing it with others, and using it to help menstruators in need.

Our Mission

Our mission at Periaid is to support the community by addressing period poverty locally here in Arizona.

What We Do

We connect menstruators in need of products with local organizations that provide them.

Who we are

The team consists of five current, and former Arizona State University students who are dedicated to the idea that access to menstrual products is a basic right, not a privilege.
